Ian Dunbar, the Principal of Dunbar Executive, has held senior positions with the Commonwealth Bank, the University of Sydney, Macquarie Bank, J P Morgan, Morgan & Banks and Merrill Lynch.

As Director of Recruitment at the University of Sydney, he oversaw all academic and corporate recruitment, and was a member of the HR Senior Management Team and of the Vice Chancellor’s Advisory Committee.
 
Prior to working with universities, Ian gained more than 20 years’ experience working in, and consulting to, the investment banking, financial services, property, and executive search sectors. This continues as an important aspect of the practice.

He has been a Director of Presbyterian Aged Care (NSW and ACT) since 2009, and of Fine Music 102.5 since 2014.

In 2013 he was selected to deliver leadership development training to emerging leaders in the aged care sector, under the Federal Government's Encouraging Better Practice In Age Care initiative.
 
He has presented the BBC Promenade Concerts on ABC Classic FM; and is a regular presenter on Fine Music 102.5 FM, Sydney’s leading classical, jazz, and world music station.
